Pasco…”the city of personal service” is considered the gateway to the agriculturally rich Columbia Basin.  The local farm country is home to some of the Pacific Northwest’s finest produce including asparagus, onions, potatoes, apples, cherries and wine grapes.  Pasco has both strong agricultural and industrial roots that provide a thriving agricultural economy for the area.  A walk to Downtown Pasco will take you through the open-air farmers market which highlights the areas local farmers.

Climate

Pasco’s great weather provides a year-round paradise for outdoor enthusiasts.  With 300 days of sunshine residents and visitors will enjoy their experience in Southeast Washington.  The fall brings the beautiful cool nights and warm sunny days; our winters are mild with the occasional rain shower.  You can expect crisp morning air in the springtime; the occasional warm winds and the yards are in full bloom.  Summertime brings heat about mid-June and stays through August with a warm summer winds every now and then.  This is the place to be if you like warm weather and sunshine. 

Lifestyle

If you’re an avid sports fan than look no further, Pasco has plenty to offer.   In a community of 48,000, athletes can enjoy a variety of first class events which are held at the region’s largest sporting complex.  This complex includes six softball fields, batting cages, a sprayground, adjoining soccer fields and a professional baseball stadium nearby which is home to the Tri-City Dust Devil’s Single A baseball team. 

Pasco serves as one of Washington State’s major trade centers because of its amenities for both business and industry.  It is also home to the first commercial airport west of the Mississippi, now a modern, full-service airport, one of Eastern Washington’s largest business and convention hotels, and has extensive rail and barge transport facilities.  The Port of Pasco and Pasco Chamber of Commerce works closely to promote this communities growth.

Pasco offers families a variety of activities and because of its great weather, inviting waterways, and farming background, Pasco is a special place to raise children and play in the sun.  This city offers some interesting attractions such as the Franklin County Historical Museum, Municipal Golf Course, Trade Recreation and Agricultural Center (TRAC), and three public swimming pools.  Other area attractions include Sacagawea State Park, 22 miles of well maintained, riverfront bike paths, Ice Harbor Dam, the Columbia River Exhibition of History, Science and Technology Museum, the McNary Wildlife Refuge, Palouse Falls and over 50 wineries within a 50 mile radius. Once visitors experience the sunshine, the recreation and friendly people, they often find it difficult to leave.
